BERLIN STREET PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP
September 20 – 21, 2025
With Leica Ambassador Robin Schimko
Location: Berlin, Germany
EXPERIENCE STREET PHOTOGRAPHY AT FULL SPEED — DURING MARATHON WEEKEND IN BERLIN
Join me this September for a high-energy, two-day street photography workshop in the heart of Berlin, timed perfectly with one of the city’s most dynamic events — the Berlin Marathon.
Berlin during marathon weekend is unlike anything else in Germany. The streets are alive. Runners from all over the world take over the avenues. Spectators line the sidewalks. Music, movement, and pure emotion unfold on every corner — and your camera is your ticket into all of it.
We’ll dive straight into the action — learning to see, anticipate, and frame stories in real time. If you're ready to sharpen your street photography and shoot with greater purpose, this is the workshop for you.
WHY BERLIN?
Berlin is my favorite city in Germany. I’ve been returning here for years — not just for the photography, but for the energy. It’s raw, layered, constantly shifting. Whether you’re photographing in Kreuzberg, Mitte, or the marathon route itself, the city offers endless opportunities to tell bold, human stories.
And during marathon weekend? It's on a whole different level.
WHAT TO EXPECT
This 2-day intensive workshop is designed to help you elevate your skills — fast. We’ll start with a portfolio review, then head straight into the streets with specific assignments tailored to your strengths and goals. You’ll shoot alongside me and a small group of like-minded photographers in one of Europe’s most photogenic cities.
From capturing fleeting interactions to mastering close-up street portraits, we’ll work together to push your boundaries and find your voice.

ABOUT YOUR MENTOR
I’m Robin Schimko, a photographer based in Heidelberg, Germany. I’ve been shooting street for over 15 years — mostly while on the road — and working with Leica since 2015. As a Leica Ambassador, I’ve led workshops, mentored photographers, and pursued long-term projects across Asia and Europe.
This workshop is a reflection of my own photographic journey — full of movement, culture, and moments of unexpected connection.
